To my astonishment, there are websites about that screaming moron. Some of the comments at the site linked above contain language that will offend the more delicate souls who hang out here. But some of it is very funny.

"Perhaps he should sell his mouth some duct tape and shut the hell up."

Billy Mays has his mouth open so much, maybe someone will come along and put something in it for him. I do wonder what the deal is that Roger Daltry is doing the music infomercials, though.

The deal is, he's washed up.

Tony Little is the one I think I dislike the most. I think he has to overachieve because he is short (Napoleon complex).

The creepiest one is that bodybuilder Stabenow (sp?) that comes across as a gay serial killer.

Don't know the name of the guy, but he has hawked, among other things, a "One-Sweep Broom" (essentially a rubberized broom)... he has this really annoying pseudo-Australian/New Zealander accent ("Your hair, my hair, the One-Sweep gets it all!") ... somehow we are to believe that what he is selling should be better than anything else available because, well, he's foreign!

Yeah, John Basedow is a bit of a loon. His informercials (and his haircut) look like they're about 15 years old. I just saw one of his informercials last week, and thought it must be the same commercial from when I last saw it years ago.

Tony Little is a whack job, but have you seen him on the Geico commercial? It's pretty funny. He is at least willing to poke fun at himself (not that he could *possibly* take himself too seriously considering what a fool he acts like in all his infomercials.

I also think it's funny how so many infomercials have a man with an English accent (it's either British or Australian), and a woman who is dressed/acting all conservative and like a complete deer in the headlights. [Edit: Peter B. sort of hit on this in his post while I was typing my response.]

Another thread could be "Poll: what televangelist do you hate most?" The ones that annoy/crack me up are "Peter Popoff and his "holy annointing oil" and Benny Hinn.

I think John Basedow was killed in the tsunami in Phuket. Which makes his informercials even creepier: "Fitness made dead."

Did you check out the Mays site? Many, many people made suggestions about what things should be put in his various orifices. Here's a sample:

Around here Express Oil Change has started a series of commercials staring Otis the 'Possum, a cheesy puppet, taking his car in to be serviced. It's beyond horrible.

I only hope that one day the rest of the country can suffer through this retched thing like those of us in the Birmingham area have to.

the scary thing, for me is this:

(1) People by this stuff. Somebody does, otherwise these people wouldn't be making money.

(2) These same people get to vote and go outside in public unsupervised.
