I'm pretty impressed with the new Mac mini! It's tempting when there are so many improved specs, including power consumption:
Wattage at Idle:
New Mini: 13W
2006 Mini: 23W
G4 Mini: 32W

Yes, and that makes any following "but it's still pretty impressive and tempting" posts more noteworthy. "The machine you can't stay disappointed in"?

Yup, now he's impressed. Maybe a multiple personality disorder?

In this case it can't be a disorder. Good things aren't disorders.

Any person buying a new computer merely because it uses less juice is Nutt Jobb logic.

I remember something about Google saving $600,000 in electricity per year by replacing a computer center with new models.

A center with a gazillion units, maybe, but not one lonely computer on the table of a trailer parked in a KOA campground.

Actually, that might be a perfect example. If someone was running their computer off a battery system charged by a solar cell, the new mini could get them a lot more computer time. A Dell Mini 9 with a 3G adapter might be even better depending on the exact use.

And think of the money I'd save eliminating toilet paper from my bathroom diet and wipe with a rock instead.
I choose to sup at places that require shirt and shoes. There's little honor in slummin' it.

I bet this company is really interested that the new mini uses less power.

Not saying juice usage (Ø Juice Newton) isn't a factor but a purchase made based on this criteria alone makes as much sense as buying a specific car solely because one radio channel is preset to one you listen to. Tail wagging the dog comes to mind here.
