Can't burn audio CD with iTunes, only Toast since Snow Leopard

Thought it was a bad batch of cd-r's, but I could burn the audio cd through Toast, but iTunes doesn't recognize the cd-r's when inserted into my iMac 24". What might be going on?

What version of iTunes?
What error do you see?
What have you tried to resolve the issue? Restarted the computer? Safe-booted? Repaired permissions? Repaired the disk? Rinstalled iTunes?

I don't get an error from itunes, just keep getting the "insert blank disk message" after disk is inserted. used five different disks, which work under toast. done all of the usual you describe and it's itunes 9.02 which is latest, only a few days old. haven't reinstalled itunes.
