Emailed PDF scrambles in Snow Leopard

I send out an email newsletter. -- nothing fancy, all text, no photos. I create a PDF of the newsletter to send to all our members. I am creating the PDF from OS 10.39 using Quark 6 creating the PDF in Acrobat 7. I re-save in Acrobat 5 (found this to stop problems with our PC users in the beginning). Most of our members are PC users with a few Mac users.

One of our Mac users has reported that his last two newsletters have shown up as "hieroglyphic" which I take to mean letters scrambled in his email instead of an attached PDF. After a discussion, it seems the only thing that has changed in the last two months is that he has upgraded to Snow Leopard. I have not made any changes on my end.

Has anyone seen this problem and what is the solution? I have googled this and have not seen a situation simular to mine.

Thanks.

His fonts are screwed.

Have him create a brand new account and view the PDF there.

"You've probably noticed that opinion pollsters go out of their way to include as many morons as possible in surveys ... I think it's dangerous to inform morons about what their fellow morons are thinking. It only reinforces their opinions. And the one thing worse than a moron with an opinion is lots of them." -- Scott Adams

In other words: Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Did you embed fonts in the PDF?

Is he viewing the file in the Mail.app, in Acrobat Reader or in Preview? Does the problem occur in every application or just one?
