2x4GB DDR3 SO-DIMMs for MacBook Pros

I have been holding off a while on upgrading my MacBook Pro from 4GB to 8GB because the 4GB SO-DIMMs were so expensive ($700+ for the 8GB kit).
But, they seem to be coming down now. The best price I have found is at NewEgg, $399: [www.newegg.com]

Has anyone seen a better price than that? I'm also wondering if now is the time to buy as the prices are just beginning to drop.

Don't go on price alone. I think at least one person posted in the last month about buying generic spec RAM for a Mac and it not working.
These are the retailers with a decent history of supporting Macs in the past.

Sadly, it seems Dealmac has abandoned DealRAM since it only lists one retailer with DDR3 SO-DIMMs specifically for a Mac. I commented on it almost a year ago. [forums.dealmac.com]

Caveat emptor. I tried the same 4gb generic in my macbook pro and it didn't work, I got them to exchange it thinking that it might be a bad part.... still didn't work. And this was despite some online threads with people reporting that it worked in their machine. I ended up eating the cost of the memory (newegg wouldn't take it back) and buying a set from OWC that were guaranteed to work, which they did.
